Congratulations to Kitty Cashman and John Kittredge, the
Ontario Racewalkers female and male racewalkers of the

We are so proud of Rachel Seaman, winner of the
Women's One Mile Walk at the Millrose Games last
night.  She won in a time of 6:49.20.

Here is a brief article from universalsports.com on the
event:

"Rachel Seaman, the Canadian race walk champion
and wife of U.S. national race walk champ Tim
Seaman, won the women's one-mile race in 6:49.20.
She bested defending champion and four-time U.S.
champ Teresa Vaill, who crossed second in 6:52.54.

Seaman said she had difficulty adjusting to the shorter
distance, which is rarely competed on the professional
circuit.

"It's really hard doing a mile when you usually race
20K," she said. "I was planning on staying with whoever
was leading, then at 2½ laps to go, I made my move
and tried to get around and away and pushed to the
end."

Wow, there was an exciting race today as part of the Ontario Masters Indoor Championships.  The
battle between Ontario Racewalker Anne De Thy and London Pacer Sherry Watts went on for all 15
laps with Anne leading the entire way and beating Sherry by 1 second!  It was a huge PB for Anne, and
a great race for all of us to watch!  Congratulations to all of the competitors today.

With the closing of the 2010 World Masters Indoor Championships in Kamloops, comes the end of
the 2010 indoor racing season.  It was a good season all around for all of the Ontario Racewalkers -
some new Canadian Records established, seasonal bests and personal bests made, and some
1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals achieved.

Well done everyone!
